Travel to Big Bear by car is available on three different routes. The easiest route from most SoCal locations is Hwy 330. For a more scenic route, Hwy 38 may be utilized. And, for those desiring less mountain driving and the least amount of traffic, Hwy 18 is an option. Remember to carry chains in your vehicle and to slow down on snowy or icy roads. California law also requires that you use a turnout if you"re going under the speed limit and if there are five or more vehicles traveling behind you.
