Skoda Yeti Wins As Suv Of The Year

Recently, Skoda Yeti launched the SUV in India which has won the award as SUV of the year

. This news stemmed from a popular newspaper in India. The news item says that Skoda Auto India which is a wholly-owned enterprise of the Czech Republic which is also known for its technology and designs in the Indian auto market, was honored with the award for the Best Sports Utility Vehicle of the Year.

The trendy SUV was launched in the global market in 2009 and in India, the Skoda Yeti was inaugurated recently but it was already shown in various auto shows such as the Auto show in New Delhi in January 2010. It was applauded for its great design, features and employed technology.

The car model is best known for the driving comfort, safety and design that it offers. It also comes with the price ranges of Rs 15,40,324 to Rs 16,62,721 and is now available in two models namely Ambiente and Elegance. The SUV is also giving a tough competition to the already established SUVs like the Tata Safari, Maruti Grand Vitara, Mahindra Scorpio, Tata Aria, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Outlander. It has already created a niche among the SUV lovers and a ripple among its rivals even before the launch of the SUV.

The Skoda Auto company, with the launch of the new SUV, expanded its already robust and stylish portfolio which includes the hatchback Skoda Fabia and the sedans Skoda New Laura and Skoda Superb. This helped the Czech Republic auto mobile maker to earn a wider target audience. The company also expects to attract more of the growing SUV market in India as well as to enjoy the meaty chunk of the domestic market share.

The Skoda Auto company has been around the Indian auto market since November 2001 and it is now a fully owed organization of the Czech Republic Skoda Auto which is a part of the Volkswagen Group. The company will hastily expand its European market as well. Skoda Auto has established a well equipped and sophisticated manufacturing unit in Shendra which is situated close to Aurangabad, Maharastra, spread across 300,000 square meters.
