Skoda unveils Fabia Estate GreenLine II and Roomster GreenLine II

Skoda continues to make strides towards becoming a greener car manufacturer by introducing the Fabia Estate GreenLine II and Roomster GreenLine II. New technology embedded in these models help to further reduce fuel consumption and lower CO2 levels.

After unveiling the face lifted Fabia and Roomster Skoda has also released the Fabia Estate GreenLine II and Roomster GreenLine II, these are the first two models of Skoda's GreenLine models. As well being face lifted the two new models include a new engine (1.2 TDI CR /75bhp DPF) with common rail high-pressure direct injection, stop-start technology, energy recuperation and gear recommendation on a Maxi DOT display.

The new three cylinder turbo charged diesel engine has a fuel consumption of just 83.1 mpg and CO2 emissions of just 89g/km. Skoda claim that as well as CO2 levels other harmful emissions have also been reduced. The new engine complies with the EU 5 emission standard.

Another fuel saving measure is the start stop technology, the system operates automatically. If after some time the driver stops the vehicle and puts the car into neutral and releases the clutch the engine switches off but as soon as the clutch is pressed the engine starts up again. Skoda claims that the start stop technology makes it possible to save up to 4.2 mpg.

Energy recuperation a system very similar to what F1 trialled last year is another state-of-the-art technology introduced on the new Fabia Estate GreenLine II and Roomster GreenLine II. The two systems stop-start technology and braking energy recovery, work in partnership and, along with other measures, help to make the two new models environmentally friendly.
