. It seems like sandals are even more popular this summer with many different designs including new trends lining the shelves of high street stores and online retailers.

Flip Flops

Of course, flip flops are the ultimate summer sandals and you certainly need a few pairs in your wardrobe. But flip flops actually come in all kinds of styles from foam and hessian to wedged and toe post, and are great for wearing around the pool and on the beach. Then there's the embroidered, beaded, sequined and jewelled flip flops that are equally beautiful in the day and night, the perfect summer holiday sandal.

Footbed Sandals

With their moulded soles, footbed sandals are ever so comfortable and supportive, as well as being really fashionable. They're the perfect choice of sandal for your holiday because you can wear them round the pool, on the beach, out exploring and into the evening. From simple leather styles to those adorned with embellishments, you'll certainly find a design to suit your tastes.

Strappy sandals

The range of strappy sandals is so broad that it's hard to specify the actually design, although they are typically seen as being feminine sandals with lots of straps, usually worn for special occasions. Strappy sandals with heels are really popular as evening sandals and wedding party shoes, and are usually adorned with diamantes and jewels. However, there are lots of really nice strappy sandals that you can wear casually too.

Gladiator Sandals

They're the biggest shoe trend of the summer and it seems like everyone has a pair of gladiator sandals, and if not, you're missing out. With their strappy designs and typically full backs, gladiator sandals are not only fashionable but also comfortable. You'll find plenty of metallic styles usually in gold and silver, as well as lots of distressed brown and black in flat and high-heeled designs, and they're the perfect versatile shoe to wear from day to night with dresses or jeans.

Cage Sandals

Very similar to gladiator sandals but a little more strappy, cage sandals are another big shoe trend this year and are especially popular as party shoes because of their over the top look. As with gladiators, cage sandals are again very comfortable and fashionable, the best of both worlds.
