Social What?
Social What?
Social What?
One of the most startling and interesting things is to watch a trend develop, evolve, and seep through the cracks of various cliques, niches, and micro-cultures into the mainstream. I often notice amongst my own little group of friends the proclivities and certain comedic tics of certain members being adopted by other members. Pull back and examine this large-scale and it becomes REALLY interesting as one notes the various trends ebb and flow throughout history. Remember pogs? Parachute pants? Yeah.
Parallel to this is the tremendous strides and evolutions in social marketing and technology to the point to where the gap between people and technology is almostcompletelybridged. You know the donghai bridge? The largest sea land bridge built? Actually I think there is a bigger one. That one. The bigger one. That's what was needed to bridge the gap. What does this mean? It means an exponentially increasing relevancy in today's marketing world, and a total domination of marketing in the future. The web cannot be denied its dues. Unfortunately this fresh fertile ground creates quite a few new problems. Online service providers want information about consumer habits. Some companies have solved this problem, engaging directly through social media to interact with their market base creating new perceptions for their brand name. However, as sure as time holds true, companies can easily fumble the sell by trying to directly market their products. People get turned off by that. Studies have shown that consumers WANT to learn about their products, and with the web a wealth of information is at their fingertips. Providers now haveopportunitiesto provide that information and guarantee a sell.
The plan here is to insert one's image into the conversations taking place all across the web through social media sites and if a customer wants what you have, then you can open the drawbridge and let them through. See what I did there? More bridge imagery. Bridgery. Connect with your market base, but don't abuse it. The internet is not very forgiving.
