If you continue to add more blog posts your website traffic will keep increasing. The automation and search engine benefits of a blog are great, but the main reason you should put up a blog is to build trust with your website visitors. When they read your blog this gives you all the space you want, even if your website is limited, to discuss aspects related to your business. This will keep your website visitor informed and will eventually build a bond between you and your customers. As the customers get to trust you more they will start buying from you. And if their buying experience with you is positive you can expect them to come back and purchase even more of your stuff.

You can blog about other restaurants in your area, which will alert other customers to your restaurant. Of course I wouldn't give any bad reviews, because that's just bad karma and business, and you might meet them at the mall or city hall. So keep your blogging clean but ride on the traffic other popular restaurants in your area receive to drive traffic to your blog and your restaurant site. This is just an example but this technique IMHO is one of the best for any brick and mortar business online.
