Sony Sound Bar System Review

Sony has made the HT-CT150 3D Sound Bar System the key to all of its interconnects

so that all you really need is one device to put everything together.

For example, let's say one purchases a 65-inch Sony HDTV and Playstation III and adds in a set of Sony speakers which leads to the question: how do you connect everything up into one system that uses only one wire to take care of typing all the various pieces together?

The HT-CT150 may be that device. In reality, it is a low-powered HDMI repeater that takes audio and video signals from the pieces of your Sony home entertainment system and it ties them together, using just one cable as the return cable for audio and video.

It's not a small system. It can't be small to handle all of the audio inputs that it has to handle (HDTV, blu-ray player, Playstation III, Surround Sound System, 3D system, for example) and bring them back to your speakers with just one wire.

This is the tool that completes your Sony Home 3D system by providing simple interfacing ability yet yielding full surround sound ability at the same time.

The HT-CT150 has the latest decoding technology built-in so that it not only can sync up all of your varied home entertainment systems, but if you have any other Bravia systems - it is Bravia compatible - it is also able to handle syncing the Bravia systems, as well.

The HT-CT150 is versatile in that it can be shelf-mounted underneath and in back of a false front in your home entertainment center. Or, if you don't mind having it sitting on a shelf by itself, you can also mount it on a shelf in back of your system so that it shows just how important it is to tying things together.

Some Sony HDTVs can even mount this device directly to the box so you can essentially have one unit. In other words, this is, as noted, a versatile piece of equipment.

Interestingly, if you purchase the optional Digital Media port, you can not only interface your systems, but you can also access the output from your Apple iPod or Walkman device or just a plain audio device.

There are a number of options available for it including its own mounting brackets, shelving and more.

This is the last piece you will need to ensure that all the pieces of your Sony system, from you handycam to your HDTV and Playstation III and 3D 1080p HDTV system will also play together in the same sandbox like good pieces of equipment. It is that important.
