, the Southern region of India with around 41% of cement installed capacity in 2010-11, dominates the cement space, and is expected to witness a significant ramp up in cement installed capacity in the coming years. By 2013-14, about 8 Million Metric Tons of fresh cement capacity will be added in Karnataka, one of the largest cement markets in the southern region. Almost all cement majors has expanded their installed capacity owed by the government-backed construction projects as these projects have created strong demand for cement in the country.
