Speaking A Word In Season To The Weary (1)

4[TheServant of God says] The Lord God has given Me the tongue of a disciple and of one who is taught, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He wakens Me morning by morning, He wakens My ear to hear as a disciple [as one who is taught]. 5The Lord God has opened My ear, and I have not been rebellious or turned backward

(Isaiah 50:4-5).

Are you a servant of God? Then I will love for you to take sometime and ponder on the above verses of scripture. Why do I say so? This is because the very reason God called and separated you to be His servant is found in these verses.

When Jesus started His earthly ministry, He made this statement: The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity], To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the daywhen salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound (Luke 4:18-19 AMP). Jesus speaking again at one point said: As my Father has sent Me, so I send you (John 17:18; 20:21). Jesus was sent to bring mankind out of all their misery. That's why in His open invitation, He said: Come unto me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matt. 11:28).

God has equipped His servants with all that is needed to put a smile in the faces of the downtrodden. Jesus said: the anointing is upon Me (Luke 4:18). In like manner, you have been anointed.

The question to ponder on is: why are there so many miserable people around servants of God and there is no help for them? The answer is that most servants of God do not have that Word in season for these people.

Many servants of God are chasing other things. Nowadays, many of us have misplaced our priorities. We chase after the wind. When God wakes us up in the morning to open our ears, we refuse to wake up. We have been so busy in the night doing other things things that are very inconsequential to the advancement of the Kingdom and the liberation of captives such as watching late night talk shows, watching movies etc.

The Bible says: He wakens us morning by morning. He wakens my ear to hear (Isa. 50:5). But we refuse to wake up. Many of us have been rebellious and turned away. The result: The Word God had for you to speak to that miserable person or persons is missed.

God has called us. He wants to instruct us on a morning by morning basis so that we will be instruments in His hands for the liberation of mankind from all forms of weariness. But we must be willing to wake up and listen to the instructions He gives us. Only then can we become liberators to the weary.

Next time you sense the urge of getting up early and commune with God either through worship, praise, or prayer, do not hesitate to get up. For God may have a WORD to pass to you that will help some weary person that will cross your path that day. Be alert. Be sensitive. Let your spiritual antennas be fine-tuned. As you do, God will give you a word in season for releasing someone who is weary.
