A legal malpractice lawyer deals with the cases in which clients have suffered damage or damages due to the carelessness or mistakes of another lawyer. Legal malpractice can be of various forms such as breach or negligence of contract, breach of fiduciary duty. In such circumstances, a client can file a lawsuit against the lawyer and a legal malpractice lawyer assists him with proving that lawyer is accused of malpractice, i.e. committed a mistake or breached the duty towards the client.

1. Earn you Bachelor's degree first in any discipline. You need not to focus on any particular course or subject in order to get into a law school. However, if you choose the courses that you think can help you in your upcoming law studies can prove helpful to you. Better take part in extra-curricular activities, take some public speaking courses and also improve your writing skills.

2. The next step is to get you registered for the LSAT test. It is a standard examination for future law students. The test contains five multiple choice sections and a writing sample that is to check analytical, logical, reading comprehension and reasoning skills. You need to score good in the test to ensure your chances of getting into a law school. Get preparatory material and start preparing.

3. You will find a number of law schools in your city and most of them are accredited by American Bar Association with few exceptions. So, you have to prepare your admission file according to the requirement of each school.

4. Law school will prove harder than any other type of education. You have to work really hard to survive in the law school. Most of your time would be spent in library, reading books and studying law cases.

5. Try to find an internship or a part-time job at any law firm or with the licensed legal malpractice lawyer to gain some professional work experience while still in law school. This will not only help you in your studies but also help you when you start practicing law.

6. After graduating from law school, take your time to review everything because you have to take the bar exam in order to obtain your license. Bar exam is a comprehensive exam which tests your knowledge and understanding of the legal system.

7. Earn your license and start practicing law as a legal malpractice lawyer. Visit some of the law firms in your area dealing with the legal malpractice cases and start your careers as a legal malpractice lawyer. You have to be friendly, clear and straight in your dealings with clients.
