Halloween is approaching quickly, and soon all the kids will be dressed up and roaming
the streets as little ghouls and princesses do! While Halloween is a time of spooky fun and excitement its still important to remember to stay safe and take necessary precautions.
Trick or Treat time is super exciting and thrilling for children, and they sometimes forget to keep their head on straight so to speak, and remember normal safety habits. Here are some great ways for you to help keep your little ones safe on All Hallows Eve and still have more fun than ever!
Be comfortable! Yes you or your little one is dressed like a princess and those fabulous high heels would look perfectbut dont risk it for a sprained ankle or sore feet! Its not worth it, and there are plenty of ways to get creative and make your comfortable footwear match your outfit! Always wear comfortable footwear!
Let there be light! Even if you plan to trick or treat in a well light area with street lights its still important to be prepared. Things can become much more dangerous at night when visibility level is low. Be sure to bring along a flashlight, and even glow sticks would be fun! Have everyone in your group wear matching reflector tape so they will become more visible to passing cars and you.
Plan ahead! Before the night arrives be sure to plan which neighborhood you want to trick or treat at. Keep older kids with a cell phone and make sure there is a time and place to meet at if separated.
Teach and tell! Make sure all children know to never go into a strangers house no matter what. Also, be sure to teach them to scream should anyone try and get them to come with them.
Only sealed candy! Tell you kids to never eat homemade snacks and food. Check all candy to ensure its fully wrapped and not torn, or old. Only fully sealed candy is acceptable to consume.
Adults be responsible! While Halloween is a time for fun, you too must remember to be responsible. Adult parties can be so much fun that we forget reality. Drink responsibly and dont ever drink and drive.
