Daily Stock Report for Wednesday Morning, March 31

US stocks had a slightly bullish orientation to it today even though the S&P 500 had no change to it, the Dow30 was up 0.11% and the Nasdaq Composite was the strongest with a 0.26% gain.

The Consumer Confidence Index moved to 52.5 which is higher than the 50 expected. This added the generally bullish tone that has developed these past weeks.

The S&P Case-Shiller Housing Index showed no recovery for rebounding house prices as their 20-city index shows an average decline of 0.7% last month.

We are seeing a much larger amount of speculation in small cap and low priced stocks today and this is a sign of a confident investor-trader (even if they are less experienced) and this environment can last for months (or even years) as we saw in late 90s.

This volatility is what allows us to make money using mostly technical indicators and common sense when buying and selling in the stock market whether stocks go up or down.

Im personally very optimistic about having many excellent opportunities in the next few months, which is about as far as I can forecast with any consistency.

Dont forget Friday, REPEAT: Our biggest economic data is the jobs report on Friday which is expected to show unemployment rate to remain at 9.7%. Any substantial increase to $10% or higher would really rattle the market. This is released at 830am eastern time, an hour before the regular market opens.

Scalp of the Day:

RHT, Redhat had a long scalp at 11:30am eastern time and went from $27.89 to $28.72 for a potential profit of 2.8%.
