Other noisome consequences are cigarette burns, dirty ashtrays, ash everywhere, bad breath, nicotine stained fingers and the acrid smell of smoke on your clothing.

There are many reasons for you to stop smoking and making the decision to stop will have definite health benefits. Withdrawal symptoms may include fatigue, irritability, lack of concentration, stomach pains, constipation, dry mouth, cravings, disrupted sleep patterns and fluctuations in appetite.


You are likely to experience headaches of varying severity, a tightness in your chest, a sore throat, coughing, post nasal drip, a dry mouth, a painful tongue and gums and a troubled stomach. When you experience the initial cravings for a cigarette is when your will power will be tested most. When you smoke, you draw in large amounts of oxygen with the cigarette smoke. You will save so much money if you quit smoking, no more smokers breath, no more smelly clothing and hair, no more shortness of breath and coughing and any other reasons that make you feel good about quitting. Keep this paper close at hand to remind you why you need to stop when you feel a particularly strong craving.

One positive step to take is to rid your immediate environment of all your smoking accessories. Give away your favorite ashtray, get rid of all lighters and matches and most important, rid the house of all your cigarettes. Ask your friends to provide their support as you try to quit the habit. As a last resort, use nicotine replacement, available in the form of gum and nicotine patches, to wean yourself of your addiction.
