You join a company, as an affiliate, and then for every sale you receive a commission - simple. Ok, so now this company requires you to recruit people, and now whenever these people make sales you'll also receive a bonus commission from them.

However, there's some false thinking with people that with MLM's you can earn good money with no work.

Hey... it makes sense, just get your recruits to make a lot of sales, and you can sit back and collect a lot of money. But you will need a workable plan, and you'll also need to put in sustained effort to make good money. Here are some strategies that have helped others win at MLM.

When checking out a company to join, pay special caution to those that want you to pay anything like an ongoing membership fee. It could be a red flag if a company wants you to pay them a significant amount before you even make a dime. Unscrupulous MLM's will make all their money upfront from the fees, and you'll get stuck holding inferior products, or services. But don't get over-alarmed if any red flags get raised. There's a common sense idea that paying in order to work is not a good idea.

Avoid wasting unnecessary time on those who are unable to be motivated to work. Here's a typical scenario: people are excited, they sign-up, they see how hard it is, they stop/leave.

Just like anywhere else, you'll find those who don't want to work, but of course they'll want others to do their work. Refuse to waste any time with these people. When you encounter that in your own group, just stop everything with them and leave them. Those who are serious will do the work.

The best practice with your associates is to be honest with them about everything. Never hype them with claims about outrageous earnings. Best to be upfront right from the start, let them know they'll be expected to put in a good effort and work to make money, etc. Telling people they can earn unrealistic amounts only sets them up for failure because they will be too easily frustrated and discouraged. If the attrition rate is high, you'll be constantly recruiting and doing nothing else. So being straight, sincere, and honest will help you in the end. And your downline will appreciate you even more.

Just about anyone is capable of finding success with multi-level marketing. If you want, you can have everything in place and working it in a very short time. Try to be level headed about it, and use your common sense with all things. Strive to be the leader all people want to meet and be associated with. It may seem intimidating at first, but never let that bother you. If you put in the work, there is no reason you can't be the next big name in multi level marketing.
