College life can be very exciting and rich in events and experiences

. But often students are preoccupied with exciting part of students life too much and forget about the main purpose of being there, which is study. Many high-school graduates, being popular or unpopular, at school want to become popular in college. But they do not take into account that school and college are two different things.

College is not a school

Being popular is cool! This statement is in peoples minds from the kindergarten. Being popular at school is fun. But you should understand that college introduces new challenges, which need 100 per cent concentration and great efforts. But trying to become popular can take too much time and effort, very often in vain. Some people become obsessed with idea to gain popularity, which distracts them from studying, which can lead to poor results and even expulsion. And one more thing, in college there can be no king and queen of the prom, there are good and bad students. Of course, one should not stick to books only; there must be time for study and fun.

Study, only study, nothing but study?

It is very important to participate in college life. Students should be active in classrooms, in college circles, in college activities, so that they could gain the necessary experience for the future life. Sometimes one should have fun, in order to have some rest and be able to gain more knowledge, participate in new activities. It is not the matter of popularity, but rather the matter of becoming sociable and active person which is important for adult life.

It is not crucial to be the most popular student at college, it is more important to be very interesting and educated person, who has a lot of friends and acquaintances. And chase for popularity can only spoil the brightest years of ones life.
