Students Union Mission From Different Perspectives

Social life in college has its own forms and directions

. All colleges have self-government institutions which are aimed at improving students life and caring of their well-being. Different student unions have varied purposes. The purposes of the unions depend on the main idea according to which those unions have been organized. But, being aware of the difference between mission and purpose, it may be concluded that the mission of student unions is mostly common, even if the purposes are different. Still, having conducted a research on the problem, we can stress that the mission of one student union differs from another, especially if student unions are in different colleges. Here is a list of the missions of some student unions, where the variety in perception may be followed.

Student unions missions in different colleges

1.The mission of the Arizona Student Unions is to unite different students under the same interests, involve students into volunteer activities and create the conditions for learning beyond the classroom.

2.Student union in St. Marys University College proclaims that its mission is to maximize students potential both in studying and social life.

3.Rhode Island College Student Unions mission is to follow students academic experience and help those reach success.

4.The mission of the Black Student Union of Princeton University is to excite students of African Diaspora at Princeton for cultural, social, academic and political growth.

5.Student Union UNC Charlotte claims that they support active and safe student life and remain its center.

6.Athabasca University Student Union is aimed at leadership, advocacy, learning organization, responsibility, responsiveness and stewardship.

Thus, you may see that the missions of unions in various colleges are similar in some content, still, the difference is obvious to formulate one universal mission of a student union.
