The staff is generally friendly and the hotel is clean and well-maintained. It is what it is: a Super 8, not the Ritz Carlton. The hotel is located right off the main highway and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The main negative is spotty internet access: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Check-in was a breeze and there appeared to only be about 10 rooms occupied throughout the 3 story hotel.
The room was quaint and simple. There was a light bulb attached to the ceiling via an electric cord and a lamp shade hanging over that (imagine a floating light shade).
The TV was basic and the remote batteries were held in place with duct tape.
I expected all of this for $40/night. However, when I connected to the wireless internet I became sorely disappointed. My connection speed was worse than a 56k connection and I reported this several times to management. Management didn't seem too interested in my problem and blamed it on other hotels in the area using the same connection.
I might have been able to deal with that until the front desk put the local high-school wrestling team next door to me. This baffled me as the hotel was pretty empty. The front desk just said they were sorry.
