Panic attacks are usually found out of the blue
, they strike when you least expect it. Sometimes there aren't even reasons for these attacks. They might even take place when you are sleeping or when you feel very relaxed. Sometimes these might occur just once, but more often than not, they might re occur. These recurrent panic attacks usually get triggered by some certain event like say riding the elevator or even crossing a bridge. The situation in which you feel a panic attack is usually one in which you feel like you can't escape or you are in danger. Now there are various symptoms of panic attacks which we will talk about.
Panic attacks usually take place when you aren't at home. The worst part is that these symptoms of panic attacks can take place anywhere and at anytime. You might be driving over to a store or shopping or walking down a road or even sitting and watching TV at home and you might have a panic attack.
The symptoms of panic attacks usually take place quite abruptly and within around 10 minutes you will find that they have reached their peak. But these attacks usually end within around 20 or even 30 minutes. But if you have a really serious one then it might just continue for around an hour, but rest assure that these attacks are quite rare.
Now if you have a proper panic attacks there are various symptoms for these panic attacks. First of all you will find that you have very sharp breathe or what we know as hyperventilation, you will find that your heart is racing or what we call palpitations of the heart, you will also have chest pain and you will feel some discomfort in your chest. There are various other symptoms which include shaking or trembling, a feeling like you are being choked, feeling as if you have been detached from the rest of your surroundings, sweating, stomach upset or even nausea, feeling very dizzy or light headed, tingling sensations or going numb, cold or even hot flashes and finally a fear that you might die or lose control or even go crazy!
Sometimes the symptoms of a panic attack can be extremely severe. People often even think that they are having a heart attack! People who usually suffer from panic attacks make more trips to the hospital than anyone else in fear that they might have suffered a panic attack.
If you do show the symptoms of panic attacks, don't be afraid. There are various treatments these days which helps in treating the attacks. You can get various self help measures or you can even go to therapy. Either way, both the treatments are really helpful or they can help you to overcome these panic attacks. You just need to make sure that you are patient and you give it time. Learn as much about these panic attacks as possible, this will help you in getting over it.
