Branson Missouri is a city known for many things

. From its iconic 76 Country Boulevard that is home to everything from dazzling magic shows to electric musical performances and dance numbers to the home of the United States National Tiger Sanctuary, Branson Missouri truly lives up to its name as the Las Vegas of the Ozarks. But what to do if your interests lie outside the scope of stage performances and musical numbers? Luckily for you, Branson also has an equally eclectic mix of outdoor activities that are just waiting to be tapped into. One such attraction is located just twenty minutes outside of Branson City limits. Table Rock Lake spans some 43,000 acres and is perfectly suited for a variety of watersports, outdoor activities and sight-seeing.

Considering a day trip to Table Rock Lake presents you with a number of unique opportunities that generally come down to your interests and level of physical activity you are comfortable with.

For the more adventurous vacationers, taking advantage of one of the many marinas located along the outskirts of the lake can be a great way to experience the thrills of jet skiing, wakeboarding or water tubing. Aside from these usual watersport fares, some of the larger marinas in the area even supply frequent parasailing and guided fishing tours. But perhaps the most interesting of all the activities available by marinas in the area is the State Park Dive Shop's scuba tours. That's right, fresh water scuba.

Traditionally, scuba is done out in the open sea where tropical fish, coral and other sea creatures make their home. A little known fact is that fresh water scuba trips can give the divers just as great of an experience as a salt water diving trip. While the creatures and animal life surrounding the lake are as exciting as ever, some of the true marvels of the area lie just beneath the surface of the lake. Divers can expect to see behemoth sized catfish, terrestrial-looking crustaceans and even some of the US's rare fresh water jellyfish. Guides will also supply you with food in hopes of tempting one of these amazing aquatic creatures to nibble just out of your hand.

For those vacationers who wish not to get so wet, there is just as much to do at the nearby Table Rock State Park. The park offers a variety of locations for campers to set up tents or RV's. For those with boat access, taking your gear out to one of the small islands out on the lake and setting up camp can be a great way to get away from some of the other people who frequent the park.

Staff on hand at the state park can direct you in a variety of activities that fully take advantage of all the great scenery and landscapes that make up the park. The park itself is home to some of the best fishing spots, breathtaking hiking trails in the area as well as the best swimming holes and bike paths for the outdoor enthusiasts.
