Complaints from these takeaway traders about the illegal fly-tipping activities alerted the Birmingham City Council environmental wardens. They in turn launched their own CCTV operation which revealed the man's car.

The man ended up in front of Birmingham Magistrates' Court and pleaded guilty to breaking an offence within the Environmental Protection Act. He was fined over 3,000 for his fly-tipping jaunts.

A spokesman for the City Council said:

"We will not tolerate fly-tipping in Birmingham. By dumping waste on his neighbours' doorsteps, [he] has shown complete disregard for both the law and his fellow traders. He has never provided any explanation for his behaviour despite repeated invitations. One can only assume he was attempting to dodge paying for proper waste disposal something of a pointless exercise as he now has to pay a substantial fine."

Getting rid of waste from a business is nowadays an expensive business, so a few traders try to cut corners and save themselves a few pounds by dumping waste illegally. This particular man in Birmingham obviously thought that by dumping his waste at the sites of other takeaway businesses, he would camouflage' his illegal fly-tipping.
