Perhaps the main reason that men and women so often seem to be speaking different

languages is because women have no problem putting their emotions into words. Men usually choose not to admit that they have emotions, let alone talk about them. However, if you really want to convince your girlfriend that your apology is genuine, you are going to need to learn to speak her language. Find your emotional side and speak to her from there; you may just melt her heart. You will need to start your apology by acknowledging her feelings. Chances are that you are apologizing for something you did that hurt her feelings. If you want her to forgive you, you need to start by telling her that you are sorry for hurting her. It doesn't matter if you understand why what you did hurt her, as long as you understand that what you did caused her pain. Next, you will want to explain yourself. This does not mean you should come up with a plausible excuse and try to sell it to her as the truth. What this means is that you take the time to really figure out why you did what you did and tell her about it.

Tell her your actions have hurt you as well. If her being angry with you caused you to suffer, tell her that. Do not tell her that her being angry has ruined your day; rather say the fact that you made her angry has ruined your day. This way you are not blaming her, but yourself, for the things that have happened. Make sure that your apology is sincere and without buts. If you say, I am sorry, but... it sounds as if you are taking the blame off of yourself. Simply say, I am sorry and leave it at that. Make the apology fit the crime. If your error was small then there is no need to make a huge production out of your apology. Save that for when you make a big mistake.
