Tata Motors Going Strong In This Fiscal

One of the largest car makers in the country, Tata Nano Motors continues with its

strong run in the Indian market in the consecutive 7th month of the year as it reported a growth of 36 percent in the Indian market in the month of July 2010 as compared to the total sales of the same period last year. The cumulative sales of the company for the period of April to July 2010 stood 46 percent higher at 339,824 units as compared to the sales of the same period in the corresponding year.

The cumulative sales of the commercial vehicles of the company stood at 40,576 units in the month of July 2010 as compared to the 1,51,730 units sold in the same month last year. The total growth in the segment in this period was 38 percent. Going in the same line, the cumulative passenger vehicle sales of the company reported a growth of 42% at 50,070 units during this month. The total sales for the fiscal stood at 188,094 nos., registering a growth of 53 percent.

The total passenger car sales of the company (including those distributed) stood at 30,684 nos. during the month, registering a cumulative growth of 50%. The total sales of the segment in this fiscal stood at 111,555 nos. registering a cumulative growth of 55 percent.

The total global sales of company's British subsidiaries Jaguar & Land Rover stood at 19,386 units, registering a cumulative growth of 30%. Where the Jaguar sales increased by 26 percent during the month, the sales of Land Rover jumped by 31% at 13,710 units during the same period.

The current product portfolio of Tata Motors in the Indian market comprises of more than half a dozen popular vehicles including the small wonder Tata Nano, hatch back Tata Indica Vista, sedans like Tata Indigo CS and Manza, and SUVs like Tata Safari and Sumo.
