The largest automobile company of India, Tata Motors intends to place its product the Tata Safari as a global model which meets various geographies
. This will include Europe also. It is expected that Tata Safari, the new sports utility vehicle (SUV) of Tata will be introduced in the initial period of coming year. This new product of the company will comply with the EuroNCAP safety crash norms. EuroNCAP is a very helpful voluntary system of vehicle safety rating that has been agreed upon in the European Union. This new stylish product of Tata Motors will have characteristics like vehicle stability system which will incorporate multi-airbag in a novel aerodynamic body. However, the officials of automobile component industry state that the vehicle might yet be short of a monocoque chassis. This monocoque chassis is counted as a standard norm for any of the modern Sports Utility Vehicles. S G Saksena, Tata Motors utility vehicles head commented that they have seen that the present step-ladder frame chassis is much more suitable for the rugged and tough operations in India. The company might not opt for the monocoque frame which is there in the new generation vehicles of the company like Tata Indica Vista and Tata Indigo Manza but the new product, that is the new Tata Safari will have all the characteristics that will make it the first global vehicle from the portfolio of the company, added Saksena. During the initial half of the FY 2011, the utility vehicle segment grew by twenty one percent to 1.54 lakh vehicles. The new Tata Safari will be having certain technologies that it has borrowed the SUV Land Rover. Mr. Saksena also commented that the company is seeking all the probable synergies within the group for the new product - Tata Safari. However the company does not intend to withdraw its present model. Tata Motors will complement the new product a lot like the Tata Sumo does for next generation Tata Sumo Grande. The biggest auto mobile giant of India, Tata Motors has marked its presence in the Indian auto market with its various commercial vehicles like the compact cars, utility wheelers and mid size segment cars. The company stepped into the market in 1954 and since then it has always strengthened its position through its various stylish products.
