We have all heard horror stories from the back of taxis and we all know only too

well how out of hand a situation can get when people have one too many drinks. So what can we do to combat these problems? We certainly can't turn away custom otherwise we would never make any money. So how about increasing our security instead?

Feeling that you are being watched is never very comforting but there are some times when it is necessary to keep an eye on things as a matter of security and safety. This is the case for taxi drivers and their passengers. The need for CCTV in taxis is high and can make both the passenger and driver feel safe. That is why more and more taxi drivers are having in-cab CCTV systems installed.

These systems are jam packed with technology and leave no room for error. In the system you will find several cameras that will record 100% of the taxi (particularly helpful if someone has a hood or is in some way impairing the view of their face), a audio recorder which picks up all sounds as well as conversations and the system also includes a flip down monitor that shows people what is being recorded. The flip down monitor is an additional cost but it can also double up as an advertising space. Some companies who provide these systems also provide you with the knowledge and links to these advertising companies. The revenue received by the advertisers can in turn help to pay for the system and its installation.

These systems will not only make you money but could also save you money too. There are many people who try and pull insurance scams on taxi drivers by pretending they have lost their wallet, say they were overcharged or have even committed a crime in the back of a taxi. With the in-cab CCTV system, you have evidence to prove what really happened and did or didn't occur in the back of your taxi. This evidence also helps police deal with their inquiries quicker and therefore allowing you to have only minimal time away from work.

Being a taxi driver is not an easy job and it can be hard to turn down people who you feel may cause a disturbance when you have a living to earn. If you feel unsecured in your taxi then i strongly recommend buying a taxi CCTV system which will allow both you and your passengers to feel safe for the duration of your journey.
