What's the best thing about technology? I think the best thing about technology is the fact that we can utilize it to our own advantage. Think about all the things that we can do nowadays that we weren't able to do 10 or 20 or 30 or 40 or 50 years ago. Things that would've been impossible century ago are now almost routine with ease that is unimaginable. Think about Henry Ford in the manufacturing line toiling away. Now things like the GE Fanuc series and namely the GE PLC make manufacturing and production a breeze. It's this type of technological advance that we can really utilize to the fullest of our potential on a day by day basis. So few embrace the technology you will be fully capable of using it to your advantage. Since things are not going back to the way that they were 50 years ago we really need to embrace technology in utilizing to the fullest. Days of expecting things to be the way that they were when it was a simpler time by simply wishing it so are never going to be that way again. Those people the pine for the days when things were "easier" don't really realize that computers might not have made things simpler but they certainly have made things easier in my opinion. So why bother pining for things the way they were when things are really the best they have ever been thanks to computer technology. That's why I'm excited about computers and computer technology just as things are today. So if you feel the same way then you must be excited about the prospects of the future.
