Teeth Whiteners Tips - 5 Things That You Absolutely Must Know About Teeth Whitening
When you smile, do you smile a genuine smile or do you worry about what color your teeth is
? Are you thinking about what the other person thinks of your teeth? Teeth color should not matter, but if your teeth are seriously discolored, then teeth whitening is something that you might need to consider. Luckily, there are comfortable, affordable and efficient ways to get your teeth whitened from the comforts of your own home or you can get a procedure done at the dentist's. Even if it is more expensive than doing it at home, the results are something you can't argue.
There are 5 things that you need to know when it comes to teeth whitening:
1. There is a suitable teeth whitening process for you. A row of white teeth is definitely something you would want to see in a smile. A 1998 study by the Cosmetic Dentistry Academy found that 85% of people believe that an unattractive smile is less appealing to the opposite sex. White teeth also make you look younger, confident and self assured. You will need to invest the time and maybe some money in this process, but eventually you will find a process that suits you.
2. White teeth are worth it: sometimes you will experience tooth sensitivity when you bleach your teeth. If this happens you will need to stop the whitening process for a few days and then continue it again as the sensitivity disappears. But if the symptoms persist, you should change to toothpaste for sensitive teeth.
3. The process is safe: The process of whitening your teeth is relatively safe. Even if you are using peroxide based products, your teeth will not be adversely affected. Most of the time, the damage to the teeth are caused by ill fitting mouth trays that doesn't fit. If it was not safe, the American Dental Association will not release an official statement informing us of its safety and effectiveness, right?
4. Home whitening kits can give you good results: Actually even home based products, or home whitening kits produces the same effect as going to the dentist. The main reason people go to the dentist to get their tooth whitened is because they can see the results straight away. If you were to do it home, the results can only be seen after a few weeks, while the dentist can show you results in two visits. The best thing about these kits is the cost reasonably lower than the dentist visit.
5. Teeth whitening will not last forever: Teeth whitening will last anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on the process that was used and the individual itself. As I pointed out earlier on, eating and drinking habits will affect the discoloration of teeth. Most people will tell you that getting a whitening kit with a gel tray is the best way to whiten teeth. This is because you can buy more gel anytime and will not need to keep buying a gel tray.
If you feel that getting your teeth whitened is absolutely important for you, by all means, do it. You would be more confident of yourself and if it brings you comfort you should consider doing it. Just make sure that you find out the side effects of teeth whitening, and see a dentist if you have any problems as a result of the whitening process.
