Your tackle box is like a little treasure box that you carry along with you every time you are out on fishing trips
. But with each passing day the designs of the tackle box are changing and so is the size. Now, one could actually stuff enough items to survive for 3 days in the Himalayas! In spite of that, when it comes to keeping our loading the box, we are not sure what to take and what not to take. Following are a list of things your tackle box should have.
1.You will definitely need needle nose pliers to take out the hooks out of the fish after you have caught them. You can also do a lot of other things with these pliers.
2.A couple of lures to up your game. There are so many types of lures available, experiment and find out what works best for you and take a couple of your favorite lures.
3.A small first aid kit is a good choice for keeping in your tackle box. Some band-aids, an antiseptic cream or lotion, a few aspirins for those headaches, some waterproof medical tape could be of great help in case of small injuries on the boat.
4.Sunscreen is another important tackle box component that you must not overlook. Fishermen are the worst affected by skin cancer. Apply it before going out in the sun and also reapply every couple of hours.
5.Nail clippers to cut your lines. It will also serve the purpose of a small file to sharpen hooks in an emergency if you happen to lose your file.
6.A good stainless steel knife is a must. Helpful in cutting baits, cutting line, opening cans of sardines or even cleaning a fish.
7.Extra lines, hooks, sinkers and bobbers should also be in your tackle box. The assortment of sorts helps you as you never know exactly what you are fishing for. Different types of fish require different types of hooks, and you might have to use different sinkers and bobbers for each of them.
8.Lots and lots of toilet paper in a Ziploc bag to keep it dry. From starting a fire to wiping sunscreen of your eyes and other odd jobs, it is actually of great help.
9.Plastic worms even if you are a big fan of using live bait, certain colors of plastic worms attract more fish some fishermen swear. Pick your lucky colors.
10.A cigarette lighter or matches in a Ziploc bag: if you get stuck somewhere, you would be more than glad to have a way to start a fire.
