Small insects and animal species detrimental to the humans and related concerns are collectively termed as pests. This is the generic terms used for vermin, insects, pathogens and other such creatures. They are known to spread epidemic diseases and ruin the hygienic surroundings and therefore are required to be controlled. Cockroaches are also counted amongst those pests that are required to be eradicated. They can be commonly seen crawling around the house corners. Cockroach control might seem to be very simple but only pest controllers know how challenging in actual it is. The great adaptability of the cockroach community along with the rising economic needs makes it much difficult to control their increasing populations. They are also known as the vectors for disease as they deteriorate the goods and the food stuff. A number of ways have been invented for controlling the cockroach infestations. Bed bugs are another category of the pests that create a lot of trouble for individuals. They generally hide in dark places like the bed mattresses, carpets and small crevices on the walls. Known to feed on the human blood, bed bug can become an intermediate in spreading the scourge diseases. The bed bug control method starts with initial inspections. Vacuum cleaning is used for small populations whereas processes like extermination are used if the population is large. The process of extermination involves sealing of the infected good like mattress in an air tight bag followed by spraying of chemicals on the infected areas. It generally takes 2-3 hours for completing the whole process.

Termites are yet another type of pests that feed on the cellulose contained in the wood. This causes great deal of damage to the wood and losses worth billions. Baiting is one preventive method that can be used for detection and management of the termites population before they turn out to be a major problem. Other methods include the use of chemicals and physical barriers. Metal sheets and sand barriers are some of the constructional physical control measures used before and after the construction. Even moisture barriers under the slab foundations are also used by many pest control companies while they provide the pest control services.
