Thanksgiving Day Gift For My Mother

Now I am studying in a university far away from home

. Sometimes when I thought about things randomly, I found I have been away from home for nearly a year. Every time such thought occurs, the first person that comes into my mind would be my mother. Back in the past when I was still at home, I didn't think of my mother as frequently as I am now. Nor did I often feel grateful for all the hardships and toils my mother had experienced for me. I was reassuring for my growth for I can finally feel what that my mother had given for me.

The 2010 Thanksgiving Day is only two months to come. I think it is time for me to pay back for my mother's hard efforts. As I recalling the countenance of hers, I suddenly realized that she had been much older than previous. Wrinkles have climbed onto the corners of her eyes and her complexion is no longer as healthy as she sued to be. Yes, she is growing older without knowing. However, mother never complained as far as I can remember. Though the life is hard and she has to toil for the whole family, I never saw her throwing temper or disgruntling. That is my mother, a woman who is bright in character and optimistic in nature. She never bought herself anything or decked herself out with any cosmetics.

I determined I should do something to compensate my mother. After searching hard in my memory, I find that mother never had a dashing handbag. The bags she had were all ones bought on roadside vendors or sent by relatives. Well, a high-quality handbag will be a good thanksgiving gift for my mother. Seeing females walking on the streets with a trendy handbag carrying in their hands, I feel it is really disheartening that mother never possesses such a bag. I know she must have dreamed of owning a brand-named handbag and I will fulfill her dream. As a son, I deem it as a duty of mine. A Hermes crocodile-pattern handbag will be nice though being a little bit expensive. Fortunately, I still have some savings.

Now, I only wish the Thanksgiving Day come earlier so that I can see the happy smiles of mother, or perhaps tears of happiness. In all, this Thanksgiving Day is doomed to be significant and different from previous ones because I eventually come to know the greatness of a mother.
