THANKSGIVING DAYis celebrated on the fourth Thursday in the month of November.It is basically a harvest festival which is celebrated with a lot of fun. It is the time of communal thanksgiving, feeling gratitude, lavish feasts,gifting, family feasting, community praying etc. The First feast popularly known as the 'First Thanksgiving Day Feast' was held in the year 1621. After the United States gained independence, Congress recommended one yearly day of thanksgiving for the whole nation to celebrate.

It is celebrated mostly in of America and Canada with a lot of excitement and harmony. It is also celebrated in parts of Asia, Africa bydifferent names. The basic idea behind all the celebrations is uniform- being grateful to Lord Almighty and your fellow men.

It is the beginning of Christmas season and USA has always witnessed the maximum sales volume on the very next day. The following Friday after thanksgiving is famously known as 'BLACK FRIDAY'. This is so, because of the standard accounting practice of writing profits in black and the deals and offers that are given on black friday helps the shopkeepers to maximize their sales and profits. The entire atmosphere is very joyous as people get in a holiday mood . Families visit restaurants, amusement parks, gift each other, decorate their house etc.
