The $400 Value For The Nintendo Wii U
There will be fresh gaming console releases from the 3 leading gaming companies soon
. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are all going to launch 3 different consoles separately. The first to release of the 3 companies would be the Japanese giant.
They will be launching the Wii U late this year, just in time for Christmas. For sure, a lot of fans and serious gamers will make it the best Christmas gift either for their loved ones or for themselves.
Also, the Japanese company could possibly follow what Google did with the Nexus 7 tablet which was sold at a reasonable price. There have been several reports from different review websites that the latest gaming hardware from the Japanese giant will be priced at only under $400. In the UK, it has been rumoured to be launched with a 250-pound price tag which still translates to something less than $400.
As we all know, gadget review websites have always been 90% precise with their predictions on the price tags prior to release. This time, they claim that they are 99% sure that the new GamePad will be sold at under $400.
Of course, this is a relief for serious gamers because it was earlier reported that the new system will cost around $600. That is a whopping $200-difference which you could actually use to buy some new game titles for the console already.
A lot of gaming aficionados have been hoping that the GamePad will be priced reasonably this time. A few months back, the Japanese giant had to make an $80 price-cut for the 3DS when it was first released with a $250 price tag.
Obviously, the $250 price tag didn't work for consumers who found it relatively high for a handheld gaming console. This time, the Wii U is going to be reasonable enough if the $400 price tag is true.
As you can see, the new system is not going to be sold with just the GamePad alone. It will be manufactured with a conventional box that needs to be plugged in the TV. The handheld touchscreen controller is just a part of it.
There will also be software innovation for the new GamePad. Aside from first-party game titles, the new console will be carrying third-party game titles. That way, users will be able to choose more games.
Also, some titles that were available for Microsoft's Xbox 360 will soon be available for the new console. If you think the Japanese GamePad is trying to outdo the Xbox 360, you might be surprised to see the resemblance between the Pro Controller and the Xbox 360's.
It's not a trademark actually owned by Microsoft so the Japanese giant doesn't need to explain anything for it. In the first place, we wouldn't worry much about it because it's the Touchscreen GamePad we're more interested about.
Although some fighting video game titles like Tekken Tag Tournament 2 might run slower on the new system, there are better things to look forward to. Using 2 screens during a game at the same time for a fighting game could be very distracting. That is why series producer Katsuhiro Harada and his team are coming up with better ways to use the GamePad effectively for Tekken.
Soon, we will be able to play fighting games on the new console with comfort. That way, we will be able to attest to the claim that Nintendo has indeed changed the way we see entertainment with their new console.
