The 4th of July Woman

Fireworks go off by the masses and BBQ smoke is in the air as we all celebrate the independence America received from its big brother Great Britain

. Independence comes with great responsibility which the U.S.A. exemplified by stepping up and eventually becoming the big power of the World.

Similar to the U.S. are the new age women. Like the U.S., women are fighting for their independence to be a force in the world and workplace to be considered an equal. For many years women were not considered as strong as men. Women have disproved this argument and are holding down the fort and have taken over. By receiving educations, making substantial careers, and all while taking care of children amongst many other things.

All the independence the women are obtaining is truly a great thing . . . Right?

Well let's take a look at what independent truly means.

The dictionary says independent means free from the influence, guidance, or control of another or others. Self-reliant in other words. So how can "independent" women have a stable relationship and even think of becoming married. From what I read in the ole good book (The Bible) marriage is something totally different from the definition of independent. If you read First Corinthians chapter 11 verses 8-12 it reads:

"For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. 9Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10That is why a wife ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels. 11Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man nor man of woman; 12for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And, all things are from God."

So where do we go from here?

I will tell you that a man does enjoy a woman who is financially stable, strong, intellectual, and opinionated, but at the end of the day the man does have to be the head of the household. The woman was brought to Adam to be the helpmate. Can you really be the helpmate if you don't need a man for shit? All I am saying is don't let your "independence" ruin your love life. Independence is for lonely people who are introverts. Taking care of yourself is being responsible. Being independent is not needing, wanting, or being able to take direction from anyone. See the difference?

That is not a conducive environment for a man. As a man's role is to lead, be the bread winner, head of the household, and the woman's role is to assist, be the helpmate to the husband. You can't take direction or let go of control if your "Independent".

You have to find a common balance of being strong and cooperative. No real man wants to have to fight to make a way for his family and then come home and fight to get his way in his own home.
