The 5 Tips To Help Save On Your Mobile Phones

It has been stated that the average monthly mobile phone bill in the UK rounds up to about 17.10

. There are more or less 50 million mobile users in the UK alone and globally there are an estimated 3.3 billion users. There are more or less 5,000 texts messages sent every second in the UK, that's every second not every day. Just imagine all these from a gadget. It proves that mobile phones are that important and how much we tend to use them daily. However, mobile phones can cost us a lot especially when it comes to mobile phone tariffs. Here are some ways in which you can save on your mobile phone.

1. Are you in a contract? Do you pay monthly for it? Is your payment worth it? Will you sign up again or maybe it's time to switch. If you find yourself tied to a contract that you think is just not worth it for your money; or if you text and call less and if you don't at least use up all your credit then maybe you should switch to a cheaper tariff. Since monthly tariffs come in free calls and texts, you should gauge how much you call and text monthly. You can see that on your phone, since phones have counters that can record minutes of calls and numbers of texts each month. If you go over your monthly credit then you could pay more for texting and calling so you need a monthly plan that will offer you more free minutes. If not then switch to a lesser tariff with just adequate minutes for you.

2. Pay as you go credits. This is best if you see yourself make less than 150 minutes of calls and texts and fewer than 500 texts each month. A good pay-as-you-go phone will work well for you. It's comparably cheaper than being in a contract. This is also a good option for children and teens so you can control how much they get to spend on their mobile phones.

3. Avoid those pricey downloads and accepting "free" ringtones and what-nots. Those "free" ringtones and offers may have hidden charges that may be eating out your credit. Downloads such as music, ringtones, wallpapers, games can charge you up to 3.50 a time, so avoid them. You can always download multimedia on your phone from your computer provided your phone has a cable. If you don't but have a bluetooth then ask a friend or relative to send you multimedia via bluteooth. Just make sure that these media are virus free. Doing so you can still have all the latest music, wallpapers and ringtones for free.

4. When you plan to go abroad for a business trip or holiday then buy a global or foreign sim rather than sticking to your mobile phone sim. Using your own sim can be very costly so when you plan to use a sim for contacts there, then buy a local sim.

5. When you sign up for a new mobile phone contract, remember that depending on the contract you can get a handset for free. So what happens to the old one? Just sit there accumulating dust in the kitchen drawer. That is such a waste! Take note that some companies will exchange cash for your old phone but it depends on the overall condition, make and model of the phone.

Save more on your mobile phone and don't overpay for something. Make sure that you do get your money's worth even with your mobile phone.
