As the pressure is applied, the re-enforced sleeve will close, providing a fully tight seal.

There is a pinch valve specifically designed, developed and tested for nearly every application in any industry where they are in demand. Like the industries they serve, the pinch valves have a wide range of designs. One type used in the mining, chemical handling and recycling paper applications, is an air operated unit that has a cast iron or aluminium body. A larger diameter, air operated pinch valve with a steel body and flexible elastomer sleeve is associated with solid products.

In a low pressure service situation where "on/off" control applications are required, an air operated valve with an aluminium body and flexible rubber sleeve provides the production answer. Within the water, chemical and solids industry, an air operated pinch valve with a strong, flexible body is ideal for these applications. Another design of the valve is also air operated with a stainless steel body, a rubber sleeve and is preferred in sanitary environments.

The pinch valve offers economic and cost effective solutions to flow control situations. This is accomplished with the rubber sleeve, which is the only part of the valve that is in contact with any liquid. Actuation of the valve is accomplished with air or hydraulic pressure, which is placed directly on the elastomer sleeve. The body of the valve takes the part of a built-in actuator and eliminates the high cost of hydraulic, pneumatic or electric operators. Flexibility in the sleeve permits the valve to close and drop-tight around the confined solids. Generally, over-line pressure of 25 Psi is needed for the air actuated pinch valve to fully close.
