The Amazing Htc Wildfire - A Perfect Social Networking Handset

HTC have released their latest handset, the Wildfire

, a phone full of great features like the other models within the range. The Wildfire however is available at a surprisingly low price.

HTC always seem to surpass themselves when it comes to incorporating useful features onto their handsets. The Wildfire is no exception. Take the polite ringer function as an example. If your phone is ringing, when you naturally lift the handset to see who is calling, the volume lowers. If you choose to ignore the call, then by simply placing the phone face down the ringer will silence. Such functions are possible thanks to the accelerometer chip which detects the position that the phone is in. Other handy features are the phone include Wikipedia search, a one touch dictionary and a translation facility. Such items are not only appealing, but also incredibly useful, something many manufacturers seem to overlook. Full flash support is also supported, making web browsing a pleasure. HTC's own Sense interface adds to the user friendliness of the Wildfire thanks to its functional menus which are cleverly designed. "Leap View" for example gives a single screen overview of all of your homescreens, allowing you to simply select the one you require rather than scrolling through several unwanted pages. Social Networking fans will like the "Friendstream" function, which groups updates from all your sites together in one place.

Functionality is not the only area where the HTC Wildfire impresses, but the design maintains the stylish and well considered theme. Despite being a lower priced smart phone, the Wildfires curved edges and the metallic strip on the back of the phone give it a much more expensive look and feel. Overall the handset is relatively compact, with an overall weight of 115 grammes and a pocket friendly 106.7 x 60.4 x 12.9 mm set of measurements. The capacitive touch screen incorporated in the phone measures a nicely sized 3.2" and can display up to 16 million colours alongside the 240 x 320 resolution. Another handy addition is HTC's decision to add an optical trackpad for navigating web pages, a nice alternative to the touch screen. 480 hours of battery life can be achieved in standby mode, decreasing to a great 8 hours of actual talk time.

The HTC Wildfire is available now. Great specification coupled with the most user friendly interface we have experienced appeal immediately, but throw into the equation the low price and you have a handset that will appeal to most people.
