Audi have now entered the executive 5 door coupe market with the Audi A7, it is in direct competition with the Mercedes CLS. The new Audi A7 is based on the under pinning of the new Audi A6.

At the front the Audi A7 has a similar grill to that of the Audi A8, the design of the front end is very similar to that of the Audi A5. The sloping bonnet design helps the car achieve a drag coefficient of only 0.28Cd.

At the other end, the Audi A7's hatch blends smoothly to a rear end that incorporates an active spoiler which rises at motorway speeds. You will also find a pretty shallow boot opening just above the body coloured rear diffuser.

Like all new Audis the new Audi A7 has front adaptive LED headlamps as well as front and rear day light running lights.

As expected from Audi, the interior is finished to a very high standard; it is a very luxurious 4 seater with ample room in the rear to comfortably sit a 6ft 5inch adult. The Audi A7 comes as standard with a 6.5-inch dash-mounted monitor which displays satellite navigation, climate and phone functions. The car's Multimedia Interface (MMI) system can be upgraded to include an eight-inch screen and allows the driver to write on to a touchpad to operate phone and navigation systems.

The A7 will be available with four V6 engines from launch, consisting of two petrol and two diesel options ranging from 201bhp to 297bhp. Prices will range from 43,745 for the 3.0 TDI FWD and 47,990 for the more-powerful Quattro. Both of the petrol versions come with Quattro four-wheel drive as standard, and cost 45,210 for the 2.8 FSI and 48,060 for the 3.0 TFSI.
