Every stage and level of project implementation should be accompanied by proper documentation, through these templates, to enhance decision making processes.

It succinctly spells out what the expected benefits of the project will be. Second, is the organization which informs the reader who the key participants of the project are and the roles they are expected to have. Third, are the critical success factors which are the indicators that are expressed in timelines that define whether a project could be considered a success. Fourth, the related projects inform the readers how other initiatives that may arise independently will affect the project. Last, the breakdown informs the readers the phases of project implementation.

A short set of questions that a Project Brief should be able to answer may include what the purpose of the project is. It should also ask what the requirements are, who are involved, and what roles each will play. It is also important to include a timeline of the start and finish of the project.

By providing a means of effectively capturing critical information, project management templates should be a tool present in the toolboxes of all who are involved in project management.
