Marriage is not something that you could play around with. It is a serious matter. Therefore, you have to be emotionally and physically mature when you venture into it. Marriage demands independence. Being married also needs you to be financially stable. It is not ideal for young people because they cannot effectively select an efficient partner in life. These are some of the lines I hear from most people when the topic comes to marriage, settling down and stuff. If marriage really is such a serious matter, then when exactly would someone be ready to take it on? When does someone know that it is the right time to get married? What are the factors to consider before getting married? Is there really a best age for marriage? If yes, then what would be the best age for marriage?

To be honest, these questions are only some of the numerous queries that people ask themselves when putting marriage into consideration. Though I know that I may not fully understand marriage itself until I am in that stage of my life already, I believe that tapping onto these inquiries will help us all in trying to understand what marriage is all about. Besides, it would do us no harm if we try to expound this matter. It would just be added information and I think that we all should have even a vague picture of it handy when the time comes, right?

As I have read and researched, the best age for marriage differs for women and men. For women, they are somewhat fearful of the being at age 30, single and childless. They have this nagging feeling of wanting to be married before this age and so this is why they think that the best age for marriage for them is 26 and below. When you ask them this, they would answer that they want to get married earlier than 30 because they surely want to have children. They think that when they are older, their child bearing capability decreases. They also base this fear to the fact that most men look for young girls and when they reach that most feared age, they think that they would not have the chance to get married at all. Though of course, not all women think this way.

There are some who think that they can marry at any age they want because they have their careers first in the list of their priorities. But then that is a different thing than the question at hand. Let us now move on to what we men think is the best age for marriage for us. Men, as is known anywhere in the world, mature slowly than women do. We need more time to develop into the real us. We spend our early years mostly with goofing around with other boys rather than thinking about a life-time partner and get serious. Of course we also have girls whom we get attracted to but in our younger years, we just get distracted easily. We are easily swayed by our environment too. As you may very well see, we spend most of our lives in being boys who want to have fun with our games rather than being men who are serious and mature enough to handle relationships.

Having said this, I think the ideal age for men to get married is at the age of 30 and above. During this time, we would have outgrown the childishness that we have and we would be able to start dealing with serious matters such as deciding for the family or rather being the head of the family. Women should bear with the fact that most men start to mature late in their lives and this comes naturally for us men.
