On the other hand, if you catch the bus to work, just use a bus stop farther away than the one you usually use. Adding more walking into your daily agenda is a breeze.

If you wish to improve your health, nothing beats walking. The reason walking is so great for your heart and at helping you get rid of extra pounds is that it is the best aerobic exercise. You can go at a somewhat slow pace if you need to, so don't be afraid that you're going to injure your muscles or joints as you might if you went for a run. I have a skinny brother who seems to be able to eat anything he wants and continue to slim. I asked him about it. He tells me doesn't know how he does it, but he did tell me that he goes for a walk daily. It all became clear when he said that. There's no excuse not to exercise, when walking is so simple.

You;ve got a better chance of keeping your walking routine if you just make it part of your day-to-day routine. Then, with a proper, healthy diet, you'll also begin melting off the pounds as if by magic. By walking you'll also feel better and you won't be bored by it as it's not exhausting at all, which will make you feel more inspired. As you walk more and see changes, you'll want to do more or increase the level of intensity of your walks. This is terrific; whenever you're ready. Who knows? Maybe you'll love walking so much that you decide to give jogging a try. And you can go on to even more difficult exercise plans, if you want.


There should be no excuse for you to not take a walk even if it's a short distance every day. Even if you're busy you can spend 10 minutes to walk around the block, or if you're a member of a gym, nip in and do half an hour on the treadmill at a slow pace to start off with.
