The Concept of Death in Islam (29) the death of the Prophets is different

The Concept of Death in Islam (29) the death

of the Prophets is different

This is the 29th article of the

series, The Concept of Death in Islam.

In this article, the death of the Prophets is different.

The

prophets are the best chosen people among the human beings. Their death is

different than our death. No prophet's soul is ever captured unless he

is shown his place in Paradise and given the option to die or to survive. It should

be emphasized that all the Prophets chose to die.

-----------------------------------

It

is narrated that Aisha (the wife of the Prophet Muhammad) said that when the

Prophet Muhammad was in good health, he used to say that:

Never does a prophet die

unless he is shown his place in Paradise before his death

No Prophet dies till he is

given the option to select either the worldly life or the life of the Hereafter

[This

means that No prophet's soul is ever captured unless

He is shown his place in

Paradise and

He is given the option to

die or survive]

Aisha

said:

I

heard the voice of the Prophet before his death,

With

his voice becoming hoarse, (He was reciting this verse of the Quran) saying,

"In

in the company of those on whom is the grace of Allah, - of the prophets (who

teach), the sincere (lovers of truth), the witnesses (who testify), and the

righteous (who do good): ah! What a beautiful fellowship! These are the best company." (Verse

4.69)

Thereupon

I thought that the Prophet had been given the option.

Aisha

said:

When

the Prophet became ill (and in his last day)

His

last moments came on while his head was on my thigh,

He

became unconscious, and then recovered his consciousness, he looked towards the

ceiling of the house and then said,

"O

Allah! (Please let me be) with the highest companion."

Aisha

continued:

Thereupon

I said (to myself),

"Hence

he is not going to stay with us?" he is not going to choose us."

[He

was given the option to live or to die, and He chose to die to be with Allah]

Then

I realized that what he had said was the application of the narration which he

used to mention to us when he was healthy. The last word he spoke was,

"O

Allah! With the highest companion"
