The Conquests Of Laser Lipolysis
We live in a world which has a clearly defined visual orientation
, where we need to consistently appear at our best to insure our success in many facets of our lives. For this very reason, in recent years, more and more of us have developed a raising level of care, and of objectivity, in evaluating what our physique appears like.
More often than not, for many reasons, we are faced with an evaluation we don't much like; unwanted fat, cellulite deposits, "bumpy skin", multiple chins, fat bellies... we are affected with a great number of aesthetical blemishes and defects, and often a diet is not the proper answer to solve them rapidly and satisfactorily. In these cases, another kind of intervention is required - namely, a liposuction, whether of the traditional kind or with the recently developed method of
laser lipolysis.
The traditional methods of liposuction were characterized by a high grade of invasiveness, and being actual surgical procedures they required anaesthesia, were uncomfortable, and had tough post-operative courses. There was a simple cause: to obtain the desired result of dropping pounds and body measurements, the excess subcutaneous fat had to be violently broken up with mechanical action, and then sucked out with a large pipe which was placed under the skin. Such violent treatment regrettably gave rise to many unwelcome side-effects:
- significant pain over the whole procedure: the body of the patient had to put up with a violent trauma, and this often left pain complaints in the following days;
- formation of scars: conventional liposuction required the use of a significantly sized pipe, which was inserted through a visible cut. If the surgeon was less than knowledgeable, or if the area being treated was particularly tender, scars could manifest, often quite visibly;
- appearance of blemishes; in those cases where large masses of fat were targeted, or in cases of an intervention made by a less than proficient operator, conventional liposuction could bring to visible sagging of the skin in treated zones, creating very unaesthetical furrows in the skin itself, which typically turned out to be far less pleasing to the eye than the original issue had been.
The reason behind the very development of laser lipolysis was to get over these problems, and the key to dealing with them proved to lie in a change of perspective. There was a common basis to every risk and side-effect in the liposuction treament, and it was the violence of the treatment; this in turn was required by the need of taking out solid fat. The way out, thus, was found in melting the fat to a liquid form by laser prior to sucking it out with a very thin pipe.
This apparently simple alteration gave way to a number of exceptional results:
- Complete absence of pain: the thin pipe now needed is comparable to an injection needle, and can be placed without anaesthesia; the procedure is no longer violent as well, and thus no uncomfortable symptoms come up;
- No scars: the use of such a thin pipe permits to dispense with significant cuts for introduction, and thus all risks of scarring are removed;
- no risk of blemishes: the suction of unwanted fat in liquid form insures that the lowering of the fat layer is homogeneous and diffused. This way, the skin incurs no risk of sagging, and it remains well-toned and elastic even after the intervention.
