The Deathly Hallows: Harry Potter Returns Stronger Than Ever

Few would have believed 10 years ago what a success the Harry Potter film franchise would be. First created in 1990 by author J.K Rowling during a train journey between Manchester and London, the Harry Potter films have smashed not only the expectations of the young actors and film studios, but also cinematic history by becoming the most successful film series of all time.

The first film in the series, 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' began filming in October 2000 at Leavesden Film Studios in London, with production ending in July 2001 - The film was then released in London on 14 November 2001.

At the time of The Philosopher's Stone's release, the main character actors including Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger were aged just 12, 13 and 11 respectively.

Now in their 20's, the young actors are ranked as some of the wealthiest thespians around, all thanks to a tale about a young wizard. J.K Rowlings's wealth is currently estimated to be around 600 million, a figure that's sure to increase significantly as the last 2 films of the series are released

9 years on and with the imminent release of part one of the 7th book in the series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" on the 19th of November There is no sign that the movies or their characters have lost any of their mass appeal.

To date, the previous 6 Harry Potter films are said to have made worldwide revenues of $5.4 Billion. With 2 films remaining to be released and production budgets that have dwarfed any of the previous 6 films, it's likely that Harry Potter will stay in cinematic history books as the most successful film series for many years to come.
