The Different Types Of Trout Fishing Lures

You always hear people saying that they are going trout fishing for the week-end and you want to try it

. The first thing you need to consider when going fishing is what type of trout fishing lures you are going to use.

There are so many lures available in the market and it is important that you choose one that you will not have difficulty in using. Checking the lures for their features and benefits and trying them to see if you are comfortable using them is wise. Here are a few different types of trout fishing lures:

1. Flat fish

-Is a type of fishing lure that is considered as one of the most productive lures when catching trout. It comes in different sizes and colors. After assembling your fishing reel and rod, you need to tie a swivel to the end of your fishing line and attach the flat fish lure to the clasp of your swivel. Once done, you can now begin fishing by casting the flat fish in an area abundant with trout.

2. Spoon

-is best used for shallow or surface fishing. It was invented in 1848 by Julio T. Buel. The lure has a concave shape like the spoon and was primarily designed only to cast and retrieve. It also comes in different colors. Over the years, the mechanism has evolved with the addition of the trolling motor that enables fisherman to cover more areas of the sea or any bodies of water for fishing. The spoon needs a hole in the rear to hold the hook. You need to attach different hooks for different kinds of fishing. For bay and gulf fishing, you might consider using the treble hook. For grassy places, a single hook would be better to use.

3. Minnow Plugs

-Are lures shaped like the small fresh water and salt water fish commonly used as baits. They are longer and leaner though than their other counterparts. Minnow plugs come in various sizes. The smallest are only 2-3 inches long and are suitable for small to medium bodies of water. There are several minnow plugs available in the marker like: Rapalas, Ghost Minnow, Regular Rebel, Yo-Zuri, and Pin Minnows. The only technique here is to ensure that the minnow plug should not exceed 5 inches since they are imitation lures and should never be bigger than the fishes you are trying to catch.

4. In-Line Spinners

-Are commonly used for deep water fishing. Popular brands include: Fox Vibrax, C.P. Swings, Roostertails, Mepps, and Pantherartin. In-line spinners can be used in upstream or across very deep water. You reel it as fast as you could to keep the spinner blade rotating. Using the in-line spinner is considered as one of the easiest setup when it comes to fishing. Once you have threaded the line through the rod, you just need to tie the spinner to the line. Sizes of the inline spinner would differ depending on the size of the water where you are fishing and the sizes of the fish commonly found in the water. For some, they consider this lure as the most effective due to a number of reasons like the rotating blade will attract the fish to bite the bait and its weight will allow the bait to go faster than most bait.
