The weather is always changing. This is why it has become a habit for some people to carry around an umbrella for work or when out and about. Although umbrellas and parasols are highly related to each other and are sometimes used to refer to each other, the former is made for the rain and the latter for the sun.

There are different variations of the windproof umbrella. In addition to their general characteristics, which include a greater resistance and a higher level of durability, there are differences between each model that makes them the perfect solution to an individual consumer's needs.

1. The Basic Windproof umbrella - It usually comes with a 60" span of windproof double canopy. It is a sure way to keep one dry under the heavy rain and even with the wind blowing. This excellent version has a soft grip handle and lightweight frame.

2. The Golf Umbrella - This version is designed to be relatively windproof and to prevent getting inverted in the midst of high winds. Most specifically, the golf umbrellas are designed to deal with the winds due to the open areas in golf courses. In addition to that, they are built to be compact and small enough to fit in golf bags or in their holders. Compared to the basic umbrellas, this is lightweight and is equipped with a rubber handle that makes it comfortable for anyone who has to use it.

Wind umbrellas, as they are most commonly called, are built with vents. These allow the wind to pass through. As a result, the umbrellas are able to keep their shapes the way they are supposed to be no matter how high and strong the winds are. Some models come with double canopies that are both vented, and they open with the simple touch of a button.

The uses of a windproof umbrella are wide and encompassing. It can be beneficial for a lot of people including the regular pedestrian, as well as those who are exposed to high winds such as those who play golf and engage in similar activities.
