There are decorations for every season, every job and every holiday. Dolls dressed for the occasion will be in the form of girls and boys, bears and rabbits, frogs, turtles and more. They wear everything from Santa suits to Easter hats, a doctor's white coat and stethoscope to a policeman's uniform. They set a jolly festive tone.

People new to this pastime can choose what strikes their fancy, and add a little at a time as they find cute and creative dolls. They may be all for one holiday or all of one theme. The beauty of decorating with dolls is that it can be personalized in many ways. Someone enamored with bears, for example, may frequently receive dressed ones as gifts. They may be ready for action in different specialties. The home decorator may have a certain type of doll or motif they prefer, or enjoy using a certain manufacturer so that all of the decorative dolls carry a similar look. Gift ideas for Mom, for example, might include bunnies in goblin masks, ready to make their debut as Halloween decorations for the home. Bunny elves might be wrapped in another box for Mom to use as Christmas decorations, adorned in red, white and green outfits.
