The Dutch Period Museum was actually constructed in the late 17th century and was used as the house of Count August Carl Van Ranzow. Despite it having got damaged during the consecutive colonization, it was restored in 1977. Since 1982 it serves as a museum in the heart of the city of Colombo. It portrays the unique architecture of a typical Dutch Town House and is a marvel both outside and inside.
