The Easiest Way to Recession-Proof your Relationship
The Easiest Way to Recession-Proof your Relationship
Everyone is experiencing financial stress. That doesn't mean you have to let it stress out your relationship. I have found the easiest way to recession-proof your relationship: date without spending one dime! That's right; continue to date to increase the romance and happiness in your relationship without spending one red cent. Not possible? Read on.
It might be hard to remember if you have been living life high on the hog prior to this economic downturn, but there was a time when you didn't have the extra money it takes to go out on the town and take in a Broadway play. Or perhaps you enjoyed fine dining at a 5-star restaurant. Remember? What did you do way back when you were a broke college student or working at your entry level job fresh out of high school for a date? Go to the movies or out for one drink? Maybe. Well you don't even have to spend money on the cost of a movie ticket to recession-proof your relationship.
Let me tell you how to date so you can recession-proof your relationship. All you have to do is set a specific day and time with your partner for a date. This is no different than anything you've done before. Ladies, once you have your date set, start to think about what outfit you might want to wear, the shoes and purse that will match and how you want to wear your hair. Get all dressed up and made-up with all the clothes, accessories and make-up you already own.
I am sure you have a ton of clothes in that closet that you have never worn or haven't worn in awhile. Be creative. Come on, mix and match your outfit. Make it a fun challenge to put a new outfit together with clothes you already own. This will actually make getting dressed up for your date fun and exciting. Make it an adventure and psyche yourself up for this date as you creatively put your clothes together.
All dressed up and no place to go? Exactly!!! Stay home and have your date at your house or apartment. Have cocktails and watch an old movie or DVD you and your partner both enjoy. Or watch a movie you tivo-ed and have never had a chance to watch. If movies aren't your thing, take out an old board game, like Monopoly or Clue or Risk and play a game together.
If board games are not where it's at for you and your partner, then play cards or use your Wii Fit. Or maybe just be together talking and snuggling on the couch. (Hmm, I wonder where this might lead)? You might want to play music to create that special ambiance you want for a little bit of romance (wink, wink) or light a candle or two while dimming the lights. And of course you can spend the evening just talking, about everything and anything.
I think you get the point. Dating doesn't have to be all fireworks and razzle dazzle to connect you with your partner. Dating increases the romance and intimacy in your relationship because it brings you and your partner together to enjoy each other's company.
Dating works to strengthen a relationship because the time you spend together increases the bond between you and your partner. What activity you are actually participating in on your date is almost irrelevant. It is the time spent together that is priceless. So you see, your activity doesn't have to cost a dime for Building Together a Relationship Filled with Love, Health & Wealth.
