The Facts about The Jamaican Weather
"Eternal Summer" are the only two words that are needed to describe the Jamaican weather or the entire Caribbean area
. With temperature ranging from 22C 31C during the winter months and 28C -34C during the summer, there can't be many reasons why to differ from this description.
So now that we have established the little difference in temperature let's take a look on the other two seasons. They are the rainy and dry seasons which play a more significant role on a daily basis. The driest period is between November and April while from May to October is generally wetter. It is also an established fact that most of the rains occur over the hilly portion of the country which is mainly central where the Cockpit Mountains are and eastern Jamaica home to the majestic Blue Mountains.
There is no telling what amount of fun can be experienced in this beautiful
Jamaican weather. Heading to the beach at midnight could be a common practice under the natural moonlighted sky, which is beautifully decorated with twinkling tropical stars. Or even making it a habit going to the beach first thing in the mornings, this is really a wonderful way of starting the day.
Much have been said about hurricanes and the peril that they bring. However you would be surprise to know that from 1951 to this very moment there were only two hurricanes that have unleashed its wrath directly on Jamaica. Although Jamaica lies within the hurricane belt it is located in an almost safe position. The hurricanes normally forms of the west coast of Africa traveling west, north west. Jamaica is situated in the western Caribbean and tends to get away unscathed. This often happens because when the storms get to the Caribbean base on their tendency to travel north west they are too far north of Jamaica to cause any problems. It is quite evident that many times Cuba and Florida will get mowed down. Another reason is that Jamaica is quite small and the smaller the target the harder it is to be hit.
