The Fate Of The Made-in-china Products In The Robot Era
To make the robots to defeat the labor is viewed as one of the strategies adopted by the United States in the process of re-industrialization.
After the international financial crisis, President Obama, as well as many United States entrepreneurs have been calling for "a return to manufacturing", and declared that during the next 20 years, the United States will rebuild the global manufacturing industry competitive landscape through the development of high-end manufacturing.
The shift in the United States from "de-industrialization" to "re-industrialization" is not simply the return to the "United States manufacturing", but to seize the a commanding point in order to main its advantages in the new round of technology and industry competition.
After reflections on the financial crisis, Americans have recognized that the long-term "outsourcing" policy has given rise to domestic industrial hollowing, resulting in many social ills. Shanghai Academy of social sciences researcher Yang Jianwen believes that developed countries have finally figured out that while the high-tech and finance can help them to make large profits, they can only offer limited jobs available and the thresholds are rather high, so the majority of the middle and low class community have benefited little from the economic development, and the income gap become sharper and sharper. As a result high unemployment rates have triggered intense social conflict and unrest.
Influenced by the European debt crisis, European Union member countries have achieved agreement on "reindustrialization" in urgent situations.
Tajani, Vice-President of the European Union Commission recently said that Europe is facing a serious economic crisis, and to turn crisis into opportunity, it is required to revitalize the European industry because the industry is a major contributor in the real economy.
Therefore, the European Union Commission proposed the concept of "new industrial revolution", focusing on technology innovation and structural reforms, changing the the energy structure centered on hydrocarbons. Such being the case, there will be a more efficient and sustainable use of resources, while promoting the new mode of production--including new industries such as robots, digital technologies, advanced materials and recycled energy.
As to the made-in-China precuts, immediate measures must be taken to ensure a survival in the international market. For one thing, the developed countries have been tying to seek the advantages in high-end manufacturing; for another, emerging countries have been trying to undertake the transference of low-end manufacturing, the comparative advantages that the "made-in-China" products enjoy achieved through long-term reliance on the low cost have been weakened gradually, while new competitive advantages have not yet come into being.
