Your Brand Must be King
Creating a brand is the most important part of any business
. If the public likes your brand, the public shares it with others. Do not confuse, the brand is way more that the product. It is the team, the service, the dependability and all of those other intangibles that represent you company before, during, and after the sale. Make no mistake; if you develop a strong brand, you will be successful. So, what are some of the considerations?
The first exposure to many businesses today is through a website. Therefore, it is important that the site flow. When considering potential customer concerns, navigation to get to the desired location is necessary. While they are on their way, it is usually beneficial to have pleasant scenery. Keeping a customer waiting is always disastrous so load time is important. Just as it is important that a secretary present a pleasant attitude when answering phone, your site becomes that entity to present a pleasing tone.
The next consideration concerning a brand is the person that is behind the product. Most often, people buy from whom they like. It is just that simple. The product is going to be purchased, it is a decided upon need. The next question for the customer is where to buy. If you represent your brand well, create a pleasant experience and respond to difficult situations when they happen (and they do happen, to everybody) then that might help that customer make a decision in your brands favor. Even better, most likely a customer is going to share it with a friend, eventually.
Another concern often neglected is the follow-up. All to often, the sale is over and that is the end of it. Never to hear from that merchant again the customer wonders if they deserve his or her business next time. In this technology era, there is no excuse for abandoning a customer after the sale. Communication needs to take place. A thank you note from a device called an auto-responder with little and even no effort will set you apart from the competition.
Creating a strong brand is imperative in the global market in which we live. One "tweet" of a positive nature can create a response heard quite literally around the world. One negative can destroy a brand, as it is even louder, as negative remarks often are. So, pay attention to the little detail that is your brand. Smile; respond in a pleasant tone and follow-up with a little appreciation. Because when you have a good brand they smile when the think of it. If it makes them smile it helps them buy.
